Hello,

I am currently commissioning an ACOPOSmulti system and I am having an issue with the power supply axis.

The power supply module is an **8BVP1650HW00.000-1** , configured in Automation Studio as `gAxisPwr` (`SL2.IF1.ST2.AXIS1`).

In System Diagnostics Manager, the following errors are repeatedly generated:

- **9012 – Temperature sensor (Motor|Choke|External): Not connected or destroyed**
- **4005 – Controller cannot be switched on: Drive in error state**
- **29203 – Drive is not ready**

The other inverter axes appear to be OK, while only `gAxisPwr` goes into alarm.

Our power section uses:

- **2 x 8BVF line filters**
- **1 x 8BVR regeneration choke**
- **1 x 8BVP1650 power supply module**

Because error 9012 refers to the motor/choke/external temperature sensor, I suspect that the problem may be related to the temperature sensor circuit of the two line filters and the regeneration choke rather than to the servo motors.

I found information in the ACOPOSmulti documentation/community indicating that the factory temperature-sensor parameters of the 8BVP1650 are intended for a configuration with **one 8BVF and one 8BVR** , and that a configuration with **two 8BVF line filters connected in parallel and one 8BVR regeneration choke requires different temperature sensor parameters**.

For a configuration with 2 x 8BVF and 1 x 8BVR, I found the following values:

- ParID 64 `MOTOR_TEMPSENS_PAR1` = **4500**
- ParID 65 `MOTOR_TEMPSENS_PAR2` = **1800**
- ParID 66 `MOTOR_TEMPSENS_PAR3` = **155**

I also understand that the temperature sensors of the 8BVF filters and 8BVR choke must be connected in series to the temperature sensor input of the 8BVP1650.

Could you please confirm the following?

1. Are the above ParID 64, 65 and 66 values correct for a system with **2 x 8BVF + 1 x 8BVR + 1 x 8BVP1650**?
2. Should these parameters be assigned to the 8BVP1650 using a Parameter Table / Axis Channel Feature in Automation Studio?
3. What should be the correct wiring sequence for the **T+ / T− temperature sensor circuit** between the two line filters, the regeneration choke and the X4A connector of the 8BVP1650?
4. Is there a recommended resistance value that we should measure at X4A T+/T− with a multimeter to verify the complete temperature sensor circuit?
5. Is error **9012** expected if the ParID values do not correspond to the number of connected line filters/chokes, even if the physical wiring is correct?
6. Can errors **4005 and 29203** be considered secondary errors caused by the initial 9012 fault?

I have attached screenshots from System Diagnostics Manager showing the error history and the affected `gAxisPwr`.

Any recommendation regarding additional ParIDs or diagnostic values to monitor would also be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi @omer.alumur,
your application with ACOPOSmulti is very interesting!

Your case is described in our user Manual [ACOPOSmulti User’s Manual V1.30](https://www.br-automation.com/en/downloads/#categories=Motion+control-1344987434953/Drive+Systems-1344987435001/ACOPOSmulti-1344987435825) at the page 767:

> Are the above ParID 64, 65 and 66 values correct for a system with **2 x 8BVF + 1 x 8BVR + 1 x 8BVP1650**?

yes they are

> Should these parameters be assigned to the 8BVP1650 using a Parameter Table / Axis Channel Feature in Automation Studio?

yes on the active power supply

> What should be the correct wiring sequence for the **T+ / T− temperature sensor circuit** between the two line filters, the regeneration choke and the X4A connector of the 8BVP1650?

I think all wiring for the temperature sensors are described on figure 297 above

> Is there a recommended resistance value that we should measure at X4A T+/T− with a multimeter to verify the complete temperature sensor circuit?

I don’t know I have to ask

> Is error **9012** expected if the ParID values do not correspond to the number of connected line filters/chokes, even if the physical wiring is correct?

In the manual in case you have the error 9010 or 9012 they point on the wiring issue: “If the wiring in not installed properly, error 9010 or 9012 is indicated”

> Can errors **4005 and 29203** be considered secondary errors caused by the initial 9012 fault?

Correct, if you have an issue with temperature sensor the drive is not ready because the controller cannot be switched on.

Few questions for you 🙂 :
Are you using legacy ACP10 or mapp Motion? Which version?
Could you read from axis test window (ACP10) or from mapp Cockpit the actual values of ParIDs 64/65/66?

> Is there a recommended resistance value that we should measure at X4A T+/T− with a multimeter to verify the complete temperature sensor circuit?

From Support (thanks Philipp!!!):
The ACOPOSmulti line filter 8BVF and the regeneration choke 8BVR both have an integrated PTC switch that is used to switch off the 8BVP power supply in case of an overtemperature. Each of the two modules has an integrated “EPCOS B59100M1155A070” PTC sensor with a rated resistance of ~70 Ohm at an ambient room temperature. There is an additional 680 Ohm resistor in series to the PTC. So the total resistance between T+ and T- of a module is around 750 Ohm.
Since the two temperature sensors are connected in series to the 8BVP, the total resistance should be around 1500 Ohm.

\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*

Since those 3 are in series, I would expect a value of 3x750 Ohm at ambient temperature.

Ciao
Valerio

Hi Valerio,

Thank you very much for your detailed explanation and for confirming the details with B&R Support!

Here is an update from our end:

1. **Parameter Table Configuration:**
We inspected our Automation Studio project and found that the parameter table assigned to the active power supply axis (`gAxisPwr` / 8BVP1650), `gAxPwra.apt`, was empty and relying on the factory defaults (intended for 1x 8BVF + 1x 8BVR).
We have updated `gAxPwra.apt` in our project with the correct parameters:

2. **Next Steps for Field Testing:**
The machine is currently at the customer site, so we will test these changes during our upcoming field visit.
When on-site, we will:

I will update this thread with the final test results once we complete the commissioning on-site.

Thanks again for your support!

Best regards,
Ömer
