# ArUserSetProperty: Remove property from user

Hello everyone,

I can add or edit URS properties using the FUB [ArUserSetProperty](https://help.br-automation.com/#/en/6/libraries%2Faruser%2Ffbks%2Farusersetproperty.html).  
Is there also a way to remove a property? Setting PropertyValue to `''` doesn’t work.  
Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello Simon,

i have currently not found a function to delete only a property.  
But you can overwrite it with `''` so it is empty.

What is the negative effect of having an empty Property?

I think currently you can only delete the property by deleting the whole user.  
`ArUserDelete`

Hi Michael,

I used ArUserGetProperty() to check whether the property exists. `ErrorID <> arUSER_ERR_DOES_NOT_EXIST`

I’m now going to write an empty value and check if PropertyValue matches the required value.

That works for now. Maybe someone else has an idea. But thanks a lot for your input!
