Does anyone facing “variable could not resolved” issue like image below in AS Code 6.7:

![Screenshot 2026-08-17 160156](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/brcommunity/original/2X/f/f8a1a994ce965fcb09a631bf53d0b81539d65509.png)

I think above is related to “language server” extension. The compilation can be done without any problem.

With [third party extension](https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=avm-engineering.boost) (for demo purpose):

I remember it is not a problem in earlier version of AS Code. I think it has problem when those user defined types are locate in another project and linked to the project.

With simple project it does not have problem on AS Code 6.7:

Hi @Swee_Hoe,

I’d recommend reaching out to your local B&R support channel on this as that’s the best way to report bugs or clarify expected behavior of B&R software.

Hello @Swee_Hoe,

Please send a more detailed email in to [support.br@us.abb.com](mailto:support.br@us.abb.com). In this email could you please elaborate on how and why you are linking a type from another project? Could you also clarify how the third party extension affects the behavior?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. The project actually link to a git using submodules. I’m develop something that has custom shared libraries that use for others.

In the program point of view, I think it does no matter where the libraries come from.
The structure is not setup by me and I still have no time to investigate why. What I know is I got 5780 problems that point to same issue:

One of the big reasons I’m using AS Code is the ability of find references when handling a complex project and explore AI. I will say that it is more than conventional intelliSense in Automation Studio.
