Hi,

Is there any possibility of implementing a read aloud feature in the HMI inbuilt or any external software or hardware.

Has anyone implemented this earlier or any workaround ?

Any suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks.

Hi …

Such functionality is not in mapp View out of the box.
However, modern browsers have a “speech synthesis” API already built in, it requires just a few lines of JavaScript to have the browser talk …

It should not be too difficulty to use the Widget Development Toolchain (WDTC), to create a widget for mapp View, to read aloud values or messages.

> Servus … I can add a 3⃣️rd example. A few days ago someone asked in the community, if there is a “read-aloud feature” in mapp View. Well, there is not, but using the WDTC, you can achieve that actually very easily. Text to speech functionality is meanwhile part of every modern browser, so there is no need to bring 3rd party libraries into a widget. All you need is a “empty” widget, something like this: 'use strict'; define(['brease'], function ({ core: { BaseWidget: SuperClass }, cont…
