Welcome back to another addition of “What’s in the box?”
General Overview
The goal of these posts are to share photographs of unboxing B&R hardware to help spread the knowledge about B&R packaging for particular items. You may be asking “Why post this?” We have found at times that customers fear they might be missing something, or are unsure as to what certain items are when they open the “box” for the first time. Without prior knowledge on what all comes with the hardware when shipped, it can be a challenge without having a reference. That’s where the “What’s in the Box?” idea came to fruition. To share the experience, and knowledge on what are included in the boxes and descriptions/information about these items.

Panel PC 2200
Today we will be doing an unboxing for the Panel PC 2200.
The Panel PCs packaging is quite unique compared to other B&R packaged items. The panel placed face down with two thick side walls on each side.
To ease the process of removing the panel from the packaging, handle cut outs can be found on the inner side walls, which help in removing the panel from the outer packaging. I’ll admit the Panel PCs are not the lightest things in the world, so you may want to get a buddy to help you lift this out.
Here you can see the inner packaging, as well as the wrapping around the Panel PC 2200 Like all B&R packaged items they are quite snug by all the wrapping they have on the item, so no worries on it ever getting loose during shipment.
Removing the wrapping from the top of the panel, you get access to the accessories that are included with the Panel PC 2200.
One thing I want to mention is the material number on the Panel PCs. This Panel PC’s material number is 5QCB000004C6VF-001.
In case you are not aware, APCs and PPCs material numbers are actually combination of components/configurations of the hardware? We have complete breakdown sheet for every APC and PPC that we offer and can be found on the B&R website. For this hardware we can refer to the PPC2200_AP9x_AP1000 Device number key document on the B&R website. PPC2200_AP9x_AP1000 Device number key | B&R Industrial Automation
Here is a breakdown for this particular Panel PC.
5Q = PPC 2200
CB = Automation Panel cabinet mounted 24.0" (1920x1080), multi-touch PCT (5AP933.240C-00)
0 = Free
0 = Free
0 = Free
0 = Free
0 = Standard
4 = Intel Atom E3940 1.6 GHz, Quad-Core, 8GB (5PPC2200.AL18-000)
C = CFast 128 GB MLC (5CFAST.128G-10)
6 = 2x POWERLINK, nvSRAM (5ACCIF01.FPLK-000)
V = Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2021, Entry, UEFI Boot (pre-installed) (5SWW10.1645-MUL)
F = Automation Runtime Embedded (TC), License without TG Dongle (1TC4601.06-5)
001 = Customer specifically designed
The final digits are usually 000, which indicate the panel is a standard panel. When those values are greater than 000, like 001, it indicates the panel was specifically designed for a particular customer. If you ever encounter a panel, where the last digits are greater than 000, then you may want to contact your machine manufacture or the B&R Support team for more information.
If we take a closer look at the items on the Panel PC 2200, you can see that it matches the device number key above. From the picture below we can see the 5ACCIF01.FPLK-000 installed onto the far left of the PPC.
Look at the back of the PPC, we can also see the windows 10 IoT 2021 operating system license, 5SWW10.1645-MUL, as well as the 128 GB CFast card, 5CFAST.128G-10.
Lets move on to the accessories that we saw previously.
Inside contains two (2) panel PC serial number breakdowns for this particular Panel PC 2200, mounting clips, a Terminal block for the power connection, along with something we’ve never discussed before, the slot covers.
The slot covers are made of a rubber like material, making it quite flexible. If you look closely at the slot covers you can see that each item has a label to help guide where they are to be inserted into the open ports on the PPC 2200.
If you’re not certain of which slot covers corelate to the exposed ports provided, you can find more information in the PPC 2200 user manual, seen below.
Last thing to cover, is the screen cover. To prevent any scratches/smudges from appearing on the screen a film is applied out of the box. This PPC 2200 will actually be used at our PackExpo 2026 exhibit, so we’ll be keeping the film on until “showtime”.
