I have made an alarm list which links to a tmx file. I see the value in using an Alarm List and am looking into having multiple instances of the alarm.
What would be nice is that with just Press3.Error, I can set an error with Code 0, 1 and 2 and they will all show up on the HMI. As a bonus, it would be cool to know if it is possible to trigger Press3.Error with one code more than once, so that the same error shows up multiple times on the HMI.
Is this possible? or will I need multiple alarm lists?
You can make the same alarm appear multiple times if you set Multiple Instances to TRUE in the MpAlarmX config. To see this setting, click the “Change Advanced Parameter Visibility” button:
However, I don’t think there is a way to trigger the exact same alarm in the same list with multiple codes. What is your use case for doing this? I wonder if you could accomplish what you need to by having one alarm trigger multiple Reactions.
For your second question, does the file which contains your text definitions mapped in the TextConfig file in the Configuration View?
My use case is that, if there are multiple issues, such as 2 sensors which are faulty, i want both errors displayed on the HMI at the same time. In the current configuration, it seems like I would only be able to show one sensor has an issue, the operator solves the problem and then finds that the second sensor is also not working. While retaining the simplicity of one alarm function block (for errors, at least) and one tmx file.
Regarding the second point, yes it is mapped in the TextConfig.
