Released in Q2 2026, APROL R 4.4-65 is the designated long-term support version of the APROL R 4.4 generation.
Continuous innovation with predictable maintenance
APROL uses continuous, incremental builds to introduce new functions and corrections. Annual builds establish stable reference versions, while subsequent patches provide corrections without requiring users to adopt additional functionality.
This model gives operators a choice: benefit from continuous innovation or remain on a stable annual build and receive corrective maintenance through patches. The target support period for each major release is up to approximately four years. When a new continuous version is released, the preceding version transitions to the Classic lifecycle phase.
A clear evolution toward R 4.4-65
The APROL R 4.4 release sequence began with R 4.4-00 in Q3 2023, followed by R 4.4-01 in Q4 2024 and R 4.4-65 in Q2 2026.
The lifecycle roadmap identifies R 4.4-65 as the long-term support version of the R 4.4 generation, providing a stable foundation alongside future continuous release.
Focused on long-term operational value
The R 4.4 generation addresses four strategic priorities:
- Lower lifecycle costs through straightforward bare-metal installation, a patch installer for simpler updates and container technology
- Greater interoperability and flexibility through standards and established IT components
- Improved cybersecurity through CIS-based hardening and redesigned handling of configuration information
- Investment protection through extensive technology upgrades across the complete system
APROL R 4.4-65 combines a predictable maintenance strategy with long-term support -helping operators modernize their systems while maintaining stability and protecting existing investments.
