Is there a setting I can change so that as i type variable names in ST that they being to autofill so i do not have to type them all out?
Hello,
you can use the shortcut “CTRL + Space” to activate the autocomplete function of Automation Studio. This should work in every available language. Please make sure, that the SmartEdit Option is active.

As an addition to what @fabian.pries said.
When adding new variables, the .var and .typ files must be saved before the newly added variables become visible in autocomplete.
