I’m relatively new to B&R safety-related software and hardware, and I’m seeking guidance regarding programming a Safemotion ACOPOS P3 drive (model: 8EI4X5HWTS0.xxxx-1) in SafeDesigner. Specifically, I would like to enable STO (Safe Torque Off) functionality for a safety application and retrieve encoder data for simulation purposes in B&R Automation Studio.
Here’s a brief overview of my setup:
- 3x 8LSA44.DB022D000-3 motors connected to the ACOPOS P3 drive.
- I have created a basic project for the X20CP3684 CPU with an X20SL8101 safety node.
- The code for simulation is written in Automation Studio, but I need help with the SafeDesigner portion to properly implement the safety logic and enable the features I need.
My questions are as follows:
- How can I create the necessary safety logic program for this setup using SafeDesigner (version 4.2)? Specifically, I need to enable STO and handle the encoder data properly.
- Is there a sample Automation Studio project or example code available that could guide me in implementing this functionality?
I’ve already reviewed the MAACPMSAFEMC and MASAFETY-ENG manuals, as well as the AS Help, but I haven’t found clear answers to my specific questions.
Any help, pointers to relevant documentation, or sample projects would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you and best regards,
Samiksha
