Install B&R hypervisor on PPC3100 in AS6

Hi, I’m trying to install B&R hypervisor on PPC3100 in AS6.

I created a empty project and followed the guideline of HypervisorInstallationGuide_WindowsV13.pdf

And created USB installation package in AS, plugged in USB port, tried to boot from USB.

The screen only shows underbar character _ and freezing.

Hypervisor installation worked well in AS4.

Is the installation method different in AS6?

Hello Hanshin,

  • Was the Hypervisor Driver installed?
  • Is the ADI Driver installed?
  • In the BIOS are Hypervisor Environment and Realtime Environment enabled?

I have installed hypervisor (following this guide Hypervisor Installation Guide: Windows (WIP) - Share Info & Ideas / How-To & Wikis - B&R Community) on different hw: APC910/PPC3100/APC3100/PPC3200/APC4100 so I’m sure there a small issue during your installation.

I checked the guide above and it seems you have to update MTCX first:

Sorry I confused the MTCX version. It was updated 4.24

Yes, the hypervisor and ADI driver are installed on windows,

Also in BIOS Hypervisor Environment and Realtime Environment are enabled

What is the GPOS on your PPC3100, is it the Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2016 LTSB - 64-bit (Legacy BIOS boot) ?

The minimum requirement for the GPOSs that can run parallel to Automation Runtime in AS 6 are as below,

  • Windows 10 2019 64-bit (UEFI boot)
  • Windows 10 2021 64-bit (UEFI boot)
  • Windows 11 2024 64-bit (UEFI boot)
  • Linux for B&R 10 64-bit (UEFI boot)
  • Linux for B&R 12 64-bit (UEFI boot)

This may be the problem.

I installed Windows 10 2019 64-bit (UEFI boot) and seems working now.
