The license for Debian from B&R costs almost nothing, and it even includes an application to simplify all basic configurations to run mappView client ‘out of the box.’ Developing a new visualization in the old VC4 would not make sense to me. However, this is just my opinion.
Hi @canmnt1, do not take me wrong. VC4 is still there and it is also supported by AS6, so it can still be used. But it is obsolete, so for a new project or new machine—which I believe you would like to run and maintain for the next I don’t know, 10 years (usually the timeframe in our industry)—I would rather use mappView. But that’s my opinion. If you still see a benefit in developing a new visualization in VC4, go for it.
