Developed Mappview screens & running in PPc2100 .
I want to convert mappview screens into VC4(Visualization components).
is there is any option available for converting mappview screens to VC4 instead of developing from Scratch in VC4.
if it is there then it saves my time lot.
Please help me in this regard.
tbh convert visualization developed in “new” mappView to old VC4 makes not sense at all for me. To your question, there is no tool to convert it.
Maybe we can discuss why would you like to convert it? what is the reason?
some of our customers purchase only PPC without OS (Windows or Linux), at that we don’t not have browser for mappview & we should go with VC4 only.
so it is needed from Mappview to VC4
The license for Debian from B&R costs almost nothing, and it even includes an application to simplify all basic configurations to run mappView client ‘out of the box.’ Developing a new visualization in the old VC4 would not make sense to me. However, this is just my opinion.
Can you list a couple reasons why it makes no sense.
Hi @canmnt1, do not take me wrong. VC4 is still there and it is also supported by AS6, so it can still be used. But it is obsolete, so for a new project or new machine—which I believe you would like to run and maintain for the next I don’t know, 10 years (usually the timeframe in our industry)—I would rather use mappView. But that’s my opinion. If you still see a benefit in developing a new visualization in VC4, go for it.
