Upgrade project with 5AP923.1505-I00 to AS6

Background

Even though the 5AP923.1505-I00 panel is (state of 12.03.2026) still in lifecycle state active, it is listed in the discontinued hardware of AS6. When upgrading an AS 4.12 project which contains the panel, there is an error.

Workaround

B&R internal clarification showed that this is a bug and the 5AP923.1505-I00 is still supported in AS6. An AS6 hardware upgrade is available and the panel can be selected in new AS6 projects.

Due to the bug, it is however not possible to directly migrate the project to AS6. You can work around this by doing following steps:

  1. Open project in AS 4.12
  2. Replace the panel by a 5AP923.1505-00

  3. Close AS 4.12
  4. Open project in AS 6.x and do migration
  5. Install AS6 hardware upgrade for 5AP923.1505-I00
  6. Replace the panel by the original 5AP923.1505-I00

Future

The issue is already reported to B&R and is handled in B&R internal support CASE-71865. If there are new versions available, which fix this issue, we will update this community entry. Until then, I hope this guide helps you to migrate and prevent confusion about the panel status.
