Welcome back to another addition of “What’s in the box?”
General Overview
The goal of these posts are to share photographs of unboxing B&R hardware to help spread the knowledge about B&R packaging for particular items. You may be asking “Why post this?” We have found at times that customers fear they might be missing something, or are unsure as to what certain items are when they open the “box” for the first time. Without prior knowledge on what all comes with the hardware when shipped, it can be a challenge without having a reference. That’s where the “What’s in the Box?” idea came to fruition. To share the experience, and knowledge on what are included in the boxes and descriptions/information about these items.

ACOPOSinverter P77 Keypad Module
Today we will be doing an unboxing for the ACOPOSinverter P77 Keypad Module. Unlike our previous ACOPOSinverters, the ACOPOSinverter P77 does not natively come with a display. This plug in module, P/N: 8I0XD070.400-1 gives you this functionality, giving customer’s an alternative way to commission the P77 drives.
Upon opening the box we are greeted with a ACOPOSinverter P77 keypad module datasheet.
Its comedically expands into a large datasheet, as you can see below. Regardless of its size, it provides a great overview of all the functionalities it can unlock for the P77 drives.
Putting aside the datasheet, we can then see the keypad snug in its packaging container.
Upon removal of the item, we can see the Keypad Module from both sides.
One thing I did find fascinating is that there is no serial bar/number included with the part number. Maybe someone in the B&R community could elaborate as to why this is the case.
When it comes to installation of the device, simply remove the Oragne cover from the P77 device, which will then expose the plug-in slot for the keypad. fun fact, removal of the orange cover plate is also required if you need to manually set the Node Number of the P77 drive.
To insert the keypad module, first slide in the top two extruded parts of the keypad display into the top of the P77 drive. Then slowly angle it to align the contact pin(s) to the slot on the P77. You may need to press in the display to ensure a tight connection between the drive and the keypad module.
There is a brief description of this process within the datasheet, as seen here, but more information can be found in the ACOPOSinverter P77 user manual(s).
This is just one of the many accessories you can purchase with the ACOPOSinverter P77.
Make sure to reach out to your sales representative, or your local B&R support team, to learn more about the different accessories you can purchase with the ACOPOSinveter P77 devices.
