Add mappservices in an application module in AS6

Hi

I am using AS6.3 and I cannot insert mappservices under an application module.

In the configuration and select an application module and then open the toolbox, I have only these choices

What can I do?

I was looking for this information but I have not found it. Maybe support for this was removed from AS6? Does anyone from BRCommunity know that?

Perhaps you need to install the corresponding “mappService package”(eg.mappView/mappService/mappMotion…) first, and then they will appear in the toolsbox.
In AS6, all mapp components are not installed by default. All of them need to be downloaded and installed by yourself.

Then, this mappService package needs to be enabled
Go to projects - change runtime version - use “mappService” and click apply

Then they will appear in the toolsbox

I have installed mapp services and I can have it in the root of my program but I cannot have it in my application module.

I have checked behavior in AS4.12 and AS6 and I can confirm the behavior; mappServices is not on the list. It is hard to say if it was removed (I have not found this information) or if something must be done before. Can you please get in contact with the local B&R office support and share with us the results of your findings?

thanks I will contact my local B&R support

In the new version of AS6, mappServices is not installed by default. If you haven’t installed mappServices before creating a new project, AS6 will not automatically create a mappServices-type folder in the configuration view.

  1. If you want to add the folder afterward, you can first add a folder in AS. Name it as mappServices.

  1. Then you need to navigate to the Physics folder in AS, locate your config folder, and change its folder type.

<Package SubType="mappServices" PackageType="mappServices" xmlns="http://br-automation.co.at/AS/Package">

This is relevant for standard use of mappServices, but for application module? From my point of view mappService package must be on the list as e.g. mapp Control is in printscreen from AS6.
