APC910 BIOS update without display

Hello alltogether,
i havea lot of times problems with the DVI and DP - outputs.
Finally even now, i can’t get any of these ports running.
So i’d like to try as an lst option to “update” the BIOS in the hope it might reset faulty settings to the main settings.
But, how can i manage that?
I grabbed the actual update files allready on an CFAST, but what do i need elso to automatically start the process?
And how could i see, when its finsished?

Thanks for some help

Hello and welcome to the community,

You can try restoring the BIOS to its default settings without a display. See the solution in this topic.

Hello, thanks for this reply.
Yes, I allready tried this step many times  …without success…

Also i tried to take out the CMOS-Battery for more than 24h …made no difference.

Hi @bdhell , what APC do you have?

Hi, i have an APC910

Actually i can get access via ssh over the network with my laptop.
Is there any chance to make a cmos reset over a command?
Or at least may be to change a graphic setting over command?

Hello,
It’s been some 10 days and I’m not sure if this problem is still relevant…
But when I had a similar situation, I was able to see the display output using an analog VGA monitor connected to the DVI-I connector of the APC910 via a simple DVI-to-VGA adapter similar to one below:

You would have to reboot the system to see the effect. Try it…
This simple trick solved a big problem for me. Perhaps it would help you, too.

Thanks and Best Regards,
AK
