APC910 & HMI Touch problems

Hello everyone,

Since I’m new here, I’ll try to explain my problem as clearly as possible.

I have an APC 910 and I performed a system drive clone by removing the SSD. Before doing this, I tried to reset the BIOS because I wasn’t able to see the POST messages on an external display. The PC is connected to an HMI via an SDL cable, which is why I suspected a BIOS configuration issue.

To reset the BIOS, I removed the CMOS battery for at least two hours.

After completing the SSD backup, I reassembled everything and reinstalled the PC in the cabinet, reconnecting all the cables exactly as they were before.

However, after powering it on, the touch functionality no longer works.

I’m trying to understand what may have happened and why.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I read that normally BIOS settings should not change just by removing the battery, because the firmware is stored in EEPROM or a similar non-volatile memory.

Thank you all.
Best regards.

If I’m not mistaken, removing the battery will not reset the BIOS (load default configuration from EEPROM); only the RTC time will be reset. Since you are using SDL, maybe there is an answer to your question: B&R PC910 and automation panel 900

Thanks everyone!
I found the problem in bios setting!

And what is the solution? COM C port?

If I’m not wrong (bad memory) in my case it was the B Com port deactivated…
Did you had the same problem?

yes, it was the same issue like in discussion I shared with you. Thanks for update
