Hello to the community,
I have a BR PC910 that crashed last week.
I replaced it with a reconditioned spare.
Since this replacement, I have loose the touch function on my automation panel 900.
My system is the same as the broken computer.
It contains all the B&R drivers.
it’s a clone of the original computer.
In the Touchscreen Properties window, Hardware tab,
They are no Devices detected, and i can’t push it manuealy.
If i clic on Select button >> Auto-Detect >> i have the message "no touch screen detected
Do you know if all B&R PC910s have touch function with DVI ?
Do you have any ideas to solve this problem ?
Hi,
normally all Automation Panels 900 have touch capabilities.
How the touch is controlled depends on the connection to the APC defined by the Automation Panel receiver used inside the AP.
Do your system uses only one cable (with DVI connectors) between panel and APC? If yes I assume that a SDL connection is used (even if the connectors are DVI connectors, this type of connection does not only transfer a video signal).
If the touch screen does not work when using the onboard SDL, maybe the internal COM C port is not activated inside the APC910 BIOS (Advanced → OEM features → Super IO → Serial Port C).
Best regards!
If you’re referring to a setup where you have an APC (automation PC) + panel and you’re using DVI, then DVI would indeed only handle the video signal. For touch functionality, you would need an additional connection, typically a serial connection (like USB or RS232).
On the other hand, if you have a PPC (Panel PC), which is a panel with an integrated PC, the touch functionality would usually be integrated and might use internal connections that don’t require separate external cabling for touch.
Could you provide more details about your setup or the specific components you’re using? This might help in giving a more precise answer
Many thanks Alexander, it works !
I have enabled COM C port on BIOS setup.
