AS error when connecting third party devices to x20cbc0083 and x20if1082-2

Trying to add 2 third party devices( encoder) and I want to connect them with x20cbc0083 and x20IF1082-2. First encoder is connected directly to X20IF1082-2and another is connected to X20cbc0083. And there is one connection between both the encoder, when I try to connect both encoder each other. But there is error. I have attached screenshot for reference. Why is this error occurring ?

Hello,
there should be a fieldbus description file (XDD) which describes the device.
If I am correct then the description file most likely states that there is only one port and therefor you cannot connect a second device to the first device.

If you share the XDD file we can probably take a look at this if my assumption is correct

As i am a new user on this platform i cannot upload the file.

Then try to search for the term “ethphy” or “port” in your XDD file and take a look if you find this. If yes then copy&paste the screenshot here

<CNFeatures DLLCNFeatureMultiplex="true" DLLCNPResChaining="true" NMTCNSoC2PReq="0"

This is not what defines the amount of physical ports

Thank you,but i didnt find anything else other than
this

Hard to say what the problem, is without the XDD file but as mentioned the file defines the slave and I still think the file does not define 2 ports for physical connection.
If you import such a file AS will then not allow to add a second connection to the slave

Please note that AS only relies on the used XDD file. Therefor such an “error” is most likely caused by the 3rd party file

Hi,

I’ve worked with that device in the past already and also tried to add multiple CD75 connected to the IF card in a daisy-chain with and without BC0083 in between… this works for me in AS4.12.6.106 as well as AS6.0.2.177. I’ve imported latest device description files which were available on the TR website.

Can you provide further information on the used AS version? any special settings for the PLK IF? and also, as the others noted, it would be good to have the XDD you are using - maybe there’s another possibility to share…
