Wondering if anyone else has seen this and worked out a solution.
Using AS4.12: when I click Properties on an object in logical view the Properties dialog box does not display. (Also cannot open dialog box for Project→Change Runtime Versions…)
What happens is AS is no longer responsive. I have to click ESC key on the keyboard to continue, so this indicates the properties dialog box is ‘active’ but not visible to me.
In an attempt to resolve I have rebooted my computer and upgraded AS4.12.8 to AS4.12.9.
My AS4.11 works as normal, AS6 works as normal. AS4.12 was working fine some time ago, not sure exactly when this problem has started, I did recently install the AS6.5 upgrade - somehow related???
The dialog is not visible and you should move it to your current screen.
This happens sometimes with a multi screen setup.
Suggestions for solving:
Method 1: Use Keyboard Shortcuts
Select the Window
Press Alt + Tab to cycle through open windows and select the invisible dialog.
Activate Move Command
Press Alt + Space (opens the window menu).
Press M (for “Move”).
Move the Window
Use Arrow Keys to start moving the window.
Once it starts moving, use your mouse to drag it back to the visible area.
Method 2: Use Taskbar
Hover over the app icon on the taskbar.
Right-click the preview and select Move.
Use Arrow Keys or drag with the mouse.
Method 3: Change Display Settings
If the dialog is stuck on a disconnected monitor:
Right-click the desktop → Display settings.
Ensure the correct monitor is set as Main Display.
Temporarily set to Single Display to force all windows onto one screen.
Method 4: Snap with Windows Key
Press Windows Key + Arrow Keys (Left/Right) to snap the window to the current screen.
