ASv4.11 Win11 Activation Error

Hello, I am trying to activate a new installation of Automation Studio v4.11 on a newly formatted Win 11 Pro 23H2 computer and receiving an activation error.

The error is “LicenseMaker could not be initialized: Couldn’t initialize programming engine. HIP error 9008: hipapi, CmAct license control: CM 9008, A matching CmActLicense already exists, Error 266.” I have already tried running the program as administrator, disabling antivirus software, and running in compatibility mode. The install was successful with no errors so was enabling .NET 3.5 prior to doing the install. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

There was a temporary problem with the license server.
Could you try to license again?

Furthermore I need to tell you that AS4.11 is officially not supported on Win11
Only AS4.12 and AS6 are supported on Win11

Edit: corrected a typo - AS4.11 is not supported. Sorry for this

Thank you for the reply’s. We are most likely going to move to v.4.12 since Win11 is officially supported on it.

Would anybody happen to know if installing v4.12 on top of v4.11 will upgrade it leaving only v4.12 or will it install it side-by-side leaving both versions available?

Hi Rob

It will install it side by side. So better to uninstall AS4.11 if you can’t use it imho  .

Hi Jan,

I thought that might be the case. I can uninstall it all just more time consuming.

Hi Corne, just as a response. We did try that multiple times with reboots of the PC and tried two different keys.

Just posting the resolution - we upgraded to v4.12.6 since its supported on Windows 11 and it activated normally.
