Automation Studio 6 and mappView WDTC Release

AS6Release
Even though it’s still summer, a time for rest and vacations, I am very pleased to announce three significant news from B&R. Our R&D department has officially released Automation Studio 6 and mappView WDTC (Widget Development Tool Chain). Along with the official release of Automation Studio 6, we’ve also updated our Automation Studio 6 Online Help.

Automation Studio 6

The new Automation Studio is now available for download on the B&R website. A comprehensive overview has been provided by Varad in the past, which you can find in this topic - AS6 Features overview

Automation Studio 6 Online Help

The Online Help serves as an alternative to the version you install on your PC with Automation Studio and has become increasingly popular. With the release of AS6, the online help has been updated as well. In the near future, updates of the online help will be part of the automatic release/update chain, so release of all new features will be automatically followed with our online help update. So you as a user, you will have always the latest documentation available online. Cool, isn’t it?

WDTC (Widget Development Tool Chain)

The key feature of our mappView solution is that we offer you a set of widgets with properties, events, and actions that you can use even if you know nothing about HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. So making web-based visualization is easy and for everyone.

WDTC is a command-line-based set of tools used to develop widgets for mappView. This tool is intended for more experienced users and customers with higher technical demands regarding widgets. It is important to note that it is available starting with mappView 6 and is not compatible with older versions of mappView.

Are you interested in WDTC?
You need to get in contact with your local B&R subsidiary.

Are you already experienced with WDTC?
I would be very happy if you could share your knowledge initially using Share Info & Ideas and later by answering questions from our colleagues here in the B&R community.

I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to trying out these new updates and starting to use them!
