B&R Automation Studio 6 installation network interface bug

Hello,

I noticed an unusual behavior that I can’t fully understand and would like to report it.

I tried installing Automation Studio 6 (latest version 6.5.1.7) on a Windows 11 virtual machine running on VMware Fusion Pro on macOS Tahoe with Apple Silicon (so Windows 11 is ARM-based).

At the end of the Automation Studio installation, the Windows virtual machine’s network interface stops working properly (I can see it, but it cannot access the internet).

At first, I didn’t connect the Automation Studio installation to this issue. I tried everything I could think of to “revive” the network adapter, unfortunately without success.

I then performed a clean reinstall of Windows, and the very first thing I did after installation was install Automation Studio again. As soon as the installation completed, the previously working network interface stopped functioning once more.

I can’t understand why this is happening. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Which installation component could have broken the network interface?

Thanks in advance for your replies.
