Hello and welcome to the Community,

MCGE232-022 seems to be a very old product according to the B&R website. Maybe someone in the community still has experience with it.

Have you contacted a machine builder? You can try to contact a local B&R office as well.

Hi Pavel Vavra,

I have contacted both B&R and MM without any luck.

And they don’t have any alternative to offer.

The local technician told me the program is still in the CPU memory card.

Hello,

well, that controller was discontinued way back when devil was still a little boy, so that could be a little bit challenging.

According to the old docs there is a ‘MINICONTROL CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT CP32’ control inside. Hope the attached manual is helpful to you.

Christoph Hilchenbach, Thank you.

Dear Mr. Christoph Hilchenbach,

Can you recommend anybody who can repair this unit?

Hi @DSGraphic ,

unfortunately no.

But there seem to be some specialized companies for this:

B&R Minicontrol parts or repair services at Classic Automation.

B & R Minicontrol | PLC | Reparatur und Lieferung | Lektronix

B&R MiniControl PLC Repair | Mountain Electronics

HI @valerio.manenti is there anything what B&R USA support and service can do there?

Please keep in mind that the minicontrol was discontinued almost 20 years ago. B&R could still try to repair this devices but it depends on the damage as several electronic components inside this devices which were used back in this days are not even available any longer. Please also note that a repair due to the mentioned age of the device cannot be guarateed and must first be clearified with the responsible subsidiary which would be Canada or the United States (I am unsure here to be honest)

Thanks @christoph.hilchenbac for your links! I know we have partner in US for motor repair but I didn’t know there are companies that repair old CPU too.
Good to know

Interesting…
I have forwarded your request to our Services Lead and Director of Engineering & Services in US.

Ciao
Valerio

I will reach out to you shortly to discuss options
