I have a new C30 (4PPC30.0702-23B with OS-Version B4.09)
I am started the initial transfer using Automation Studio 4.12 and Automation Runtime B4.93.
The transfer is taking very long. (at least 1 hour) and first one crushed. I am at second attempt for the moment.
Am I doing something wrong? Is it normal to take this long?
Hi Dragos,
it should not take an hour to transfer the project. Are you transferring the project through a local Ethernet connection, or is this a VPN connection? You can try to set the C30 in service mode first and then transfer the project.
Hi Stephan, I am directly connected to the panel. unfortunately is not yet possible to stop the target because is no Automation Runtime installed (just the one from factory)
Hard to describe. Fist time with an empty project the runtime transfer was fast. I had the panel in RUN with the new runtime without any Program. Then the program took to long. I stopped It and power cycle the panel. After shout down, the factory runtime is back and even the empty project transfer takes long again…
Hi Dragos,
that is really strange, when the new runtime is on the panel it should be flashed permanently. Here are a few questions that might help to find the problem:
Did you download this project on a different C30 before?
Do you have a second C30 to check if it has the same issue?
When you look at the logger, do you see any entries that raise some concerns?
Double-check the 24V power supply to make sure it’s ok
Is the C30 in an enclosure and could this be a temperature problem?
Sorry for not responding earlier. I was busy with another project.
In the end, it worked, but I had to follow a few steps:
I used an empty project to transfer the runtime.
I transferred the project. This step took about 30 minutes. In the past, it used to crash at this point, but this time it worked.
After the demo project was online, I was able to transfer my project.
Yes, the project I have was previously on this exact panel and two others. I had the same problem several months ago, but the transfer didn’t crash at that time.
