Configure PathGen Axis Group with only 1 axis

After the successful implementation of a 2-axis CNC system, where a two-dimensional pattern is traced with a camera which is triggered via the Axis feature “Signaling” and a X20DS4389, I would like to apply the same approach to a one-dimensional pattern.

The configuration:

  • Linear axis with a 2300mm stroke
  • Acopos P3
  • MappMotion 6.2
  • AR 6.2
  • X20DS4389 Digital signal 4x I/O, 24 VDC, Nettime

Of course, a PathGen axis group cannot be configured with just one axis, but that is exactly what i need.
I have tried to configure a dummy axis. However, as long as the configured axis is not assigned to an Acopos, the axis group cannot be created:
Dummy axis must be assigned to an acopos

Does anyone have an idea of how this can be configured? With a custom mechanical system?

An alternative attempt would be to use the ViBaseAxisBasedAcquisition Fub, as I actually need exactly this function. However, we are not using a camera system from B&R in this application

Hi @simon.buschor, unfortunately I don’t see your picture but have you tried a PureVAxis? That should take care of the assignment issue for the AxesGroup!
