Connexion on X20 CP 0482 with AS 6

Hello,

I have a PLC X20 CP 0482 with AS 6, it’x the first time that I try to connect on the PLC but I have no access to the “transfer” button and I can’t connect.
I don’t find documentation about this. I saw some videos but this button is always available.

Does anyone have a method please ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Pascal,

Welcome to the Community!

You won’t be able to transfer anything until you successfully connect to the PLC, and so the transfer button will not be available until that’s the case.

Do you know the IP address of the PLC? Is SNMP activated in the running project?

Hello Marcus,

Thanks for your quick answer.

I don’t know how give the IP address to the PLC, when I create a new project the scan network doesn’t find the PLC.
I tried to set by “Online” → “settings” but I didn’t find how to use these settings.

.

Hi Pascal, you need to connect PLC to DHCP server and check which address PLC get. SNMP is deactivated in default and you cant search PLC. Second way is create new CF and update network config to static and set IP manually.

Hello Jan,

Many thanks for your answer.
Unfortunately that’s not work. I activated SNMP and DHCP mode. I give the IP address 192.168.0.1, my computer is in 192.168.0.100.
When I re start the Automation studio and refresh the online settings the target type description stay empty.
I try with set IP manually but it’s the same thing.

My Led R/E is in red and the led RDY/F is yellow. Do you think that the problem comes from other problem ?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,
from the distance i am not sure if i get all your operations correct… but i think up now you still not have a connection to the PLC and all your Setting changes you descriped are in the “offline” project settings of the Automation Studio.

I would recomend that you try to set the PLC X20CP0482 to Boot Mode via the Reset Switch, to ensure that there is a default IP Configuration active. In Bootmode its SNMP Active and DHCP. If you don’t have a DHCP you can still finde the PLC with IP 0.0.0.0 and Update it then with the online Settingsdialog of Automation Studio.
Via this way you should get an Online Connection and we then know that the plc is working.

Depending on the Boot Automation Runtime Version we then can set up the next steps.
For example trying to Download the Project.

As far as i know … if the Boot Runtime is smaller than AR4.33, which is what i would expect, you have to use the Offline Commissioning in AS6 to make this Online Install and Runtime Update.
