Digital Twin of a 3-phase motor?

Hi, I am enquiring if it is possible to create a digital twin of a 3-phase induction motor using B&R software? Has anyone every looked at this? Thanks very much in advance.

Hi @c603684 Gerard Patrick,

i am not really sure if i got your requirements.

attached there is a project with PLC + ACOPOS + Induction motor in simulation mode.
Controller simulation is set to ‘Complete’.

You can switch on and run the simulated motor by use of mappCockpit and read back

ICTRL_ISQ_ACT (ParId 214) and ICTRL_ISD_ACT(ParId 219) as well. Even MOTOR_MAGNETIZING_CURR (79) looks reasonable.
sim.zip (9.3 MB)

Not so bad, eh ?

Hi Christoph,

Thanks very much for your reply. I will download and have a look at that later today.

I am only trying to build up an understanding of how digital twin technology can be used and maybe using it in future for a simple project.

I appreciate your help.

Regards.

You’re welcome.

You are not only able to simulate the motor, but also the associated mechanics.
