Mapp View Diagnostics in Edge web browser

Our company wants to remove Chome web browser from our computers and they want us to use the Microsoft Edge web browser instead. Mapp Cockpit and Mapp View visualizations seems to be working fine in Edge, but Mapp View Diagnostics doesn’t work in Edge.
Anyone know if it possible to view Mapp View Diagnostics in Edge and how to make it work?

Hi Johnny,

in my company Mapp View Diagnostics page is working in Edge:

Version:

I’m working with encryption (https) and on port 91

Sincerly Simon

We’re using standard http and default port 81. Works fine in Chrome but not in Edge. I will try using https and see if that works.

Enabling https didn’t work. But I’m not sure if I have to create a certificate or something to make https work.
However, I tried to open Mapp View Diagnostics in Chrome, and this time I selected “Cancel” in the log in dialog. Then I got the same result as in Edge:

Sorry, the text in the picture is in swedish, but if you look at the error code you’ll see that it is the sama as I got when using Edge.

So it seems that the problem is that the log in dialog doesn’t open when I use Edge.

Hi Johnny,

don’t know whether the problem is in http/https access.

What I wanted to say, is that diagnostic page should work in MS Edge.

Maybe there is a setting or something which can be enabled in browser settings.

Hi,

Based on what you shared, it’s seems that your Edge browser as basic auth disabled.
You can take a look
Latest version of Edge no longer shows basic authentication login - Microsoft Community
Edge chromium doesn’t show basic authentication popup – Microsoft 365 consultancy

I’m pretty sure that the edge configuration of your PC is the cause.

Hope that could help!

Regards,
Florent

You were right, I enabled basic auth in the registry editor and now it works.
I just hope that this change will not disappear in the next update of my computer…
Thanks for the help!

You can maybe talk with your IT team if you have one in your company, then could maybe do things for strategies in Edge and deploy this to Automation engineer PC fleet.
