I am getting a new laptop and need to install AS on the new laptop. Is there a report of which AS modules are installed on the old laptop? I want to make sure that I don’t forget any modules.
Thank you very much for your support.
Hi,
I’m not aware of any report, but maybe others here in the Community know more about?
What I know from AS4.12 (I think, it’s also valid for other AS4 versions), that the’re 2 folders named “upgrades”, one in the installation directory if the version independent components (folder “AS/”), and one in the specific AS version installation (for example folder “AS412/”).
In both folders there’s a file called “UpgradeIndex.xml”, which contains detail information of installed upgrades (like name, version, a.s.o.).
Also, some of the upgrade exe files are stored there, but I’m not sure if all exe files are kept after installation (I don’t think so!), in my opinion the xml file has the more complete information about used upgrades.
See here sample screenshots of the 2 directories from my notebook, but please note that the folders may vary depending on the version we’re talking about.
Hope that helps a bit,
best regards.
Hi Alexander,
thanks for this information, it was extremely helpful. I was able to see all installed versions and also how often some products have been updated. I created a list of the installed products and migrated to AS 4.12 straight away. AS 4.12 required significantly fewer additional modules.
Thank you for your support.
