Hello, I want to connect an online PLC using AS 4.2, but when doing the online setting, the PLC cannot be found, even though the ping test through command prompt works fine. Has anyone experienced this?
Are you trying to browse the PLC in Automation Studio or do you enter the IP? Take a look at the PVI Manager.
Click on Options PVI Diagnostics

could be that the online comminucation is deactivated on the PLC
Or your PLC does use a way newer AR as supported by your AS4.2. In this case the PLC might only be able to communicate via ANSL which is not supported by your AS
You should clearify a bit the background of this PLC/machine.
Did you program it ?
Do you have the original project and yes is it an original AS4.2 project ?
