Project Migration from Automation Studio 4.12 to 6.1

Good morning,
I recently completed the migration of a project from Automation Studio 4.12 to 6.1.

After following the official migration guide, the project compiled without any issues.
During testing on the simulator, everything worked as expected: I was able to connect from the IDE and use the watch mode.

The issue appeared when I downloaded the project to the APC910 via USB, using an offline installation.
After the PLC rebooted, I attempted to connect through AS6 to enter watch mode, but I was prompted to enter access credentials.

Even after entering the project credentials, I was still unable to go online.

I’m currently investigating whether it’s related to user/role configuration in the new environment or if some settings were lost during the migration.

If anyone has encountered a similar situation or has suggestions on how to resolve this, I’d really appreciate your input.

Thanks

Hi,

I haven’t seen such a behavior so far.
Was ANSL authentication already activated in the AS4.12 project before upgrading it?
Is the user or the role assigned to ANSL authentication used for something else, for example in mappView, and if yes, are the user credentials are working there as expected?

Best regards.

Hi Alexander,
in the initial 4.12 project, users and roles were well structured. Downloading the project was only possible for a specific role. The same users and roles were also used for mappView and Cockpit—no issues there.

After performing the migration, it was not possible to connect with any user/role.
I removed the restriction on downloading, and now I can maintain the connection after the download.

However, I need to restore everything as it was.

Best regards

Ciao Donatella,

suppungo tu abbia effettuato la conversione del progetto come specificato nell’help. (B&R Online Help).

(B&R Online Help)

Spero di esserti stato di aiuto.

Nicolò
