While opening Automation Studio 4.11, showing this error and automatically closed the software. What is the solution?
Hi
Closing the AS due to this error is new to me but what you can check/do:
Open PVI Monitor - it should show the locked security mode.
File → Stop manager (maybe File-> Start manager after that as well, but with the opening of AS it should start again itself)
PVI 6 here, but despite the different icon and text in the title it looks the same:
Best regards
Michael
I uninstalled as4.11 and reinstalled. but again same issue is happening(software automatically closed without any error.previously error is there). PVI also attached below. Can you suggest a solution
,not showing any error popup.
I think we are dealing with two different situations here, which have nothing to do with each other in the first instance.
PVI is a driver that requires a license. However, Automation Studio has an internal release and can continue to work with it despite the lack of a license.
The fact that Automation Studio closes immediately when started without a license is probably a program error. One could now hope that an update will help. Otherwise, I would try opening a different project. Alternatively, you can also start the AS without loading a project.
But this issue is faced only AS4.11. other softwares no issue…I uninstalled several times and try to open different AS4.11 programs, still the issue not solved.
Also in PVI 4.11, in security mode some time it is showing “security mode :undefined”
Hi Jörg,
Same problem here…
e.g. AS is unexpectedly terminated or is it only the message ?
For the latter:
If you only use Automation Studio, it is not a problem, as AS has an activation for the PVI. The message is only informative and can be switched off in the PVI Manager.
If you have another Windows program running that accesses PVI in the background, you will need a license or a B&R PC if you need to run it for more than 2 hours.
Hello Christoph,
Thanks for the quick reply.
No, AS does not terminate. However, I am programming with the PLC connected and when the error message appears I lose the connection.
I have to stop and restart the PVI Manager manually so that I can connect to the machine again.
This has only been happening for a few days. Last week I had no problems at all.
Unfortunately, this makes it very difficult to work productively.
I would appreciate a quick solution or workaround.
Hi,
and when the error message appears I lose the connection
That is strange. Your PVI monitor does not show an error either.
Perhaps the PVI remote access (via port 20000) is also somehow involved … Do you need it? Is the PVI Manager running on the same PC as your Automation Studio?
see PVI Remote
Thank you Christoph,
I think I’ve found the problem.
There was once a test series here to test this remote issue.
Obviously I had activated TCP/IP communication for this.
After I unchecked the box, everything fits again.
Command back. Everything is fine.
Hi @Sona_Roy ,
I uninstalled several times
did you also uninstall PVI ? After you’ve done it you can install PVI 4.12 before re-installing AS. AS4.11 is able to work even with this newer version. I have no clue if this will change anything but just give it a try.
… try to open different AS4.11 programs, still the issue not solved.
what does this mean ? Did you try instead opening different AS projects ? And does this mean AS will run without opening a project ?
