I’m currently having a problem to browse my PLC by using the Online Settings inside of Automation Studio.
SMNP is activate on the PLC side.
I have Autoamtion Studio V4.9.6.42 installed on a Windows 11 machine.
A Colleague is able to see the PLC in his Online settings he uses the same Version under Windows 10, is there any Problem known to B&R regarding this topic in conjunction with Windows 11.
If anyone can provide a solution, I would be verry happy
I am sorry to tell but AS4.9 is not “allowed” to be used with Win11
or in other words only AS4.12 and AS6.x can be used using Win11
As your collegue does find the PLC I would imagine that there is no IT restriction in terms of SNMP. Nevertheless you also need a “driver” which is basically installed when you install AS. This is called “npcap” and is part of AS installation (you can find this in the setup folders of your AS “DVD”.
In certain conditions it helped reinstalling this but…
…still I doubt that this will fix the issue as AS4.9 is not valid with Win 11
This driver is a standalone install file within the AS DVD:
The installer checks if Windows offers such a driver and if not it will install this.
It is not part of PVI install and therefor the installation of PVI won’t fix such issues.
Nevertheless as mentioned AS4.9 is not supported on Win11 and I rather think that this is the problem
It is part of almost every setup as we need such a driver for “browse for targets” (which is no done by PVI in the case of AS dialog)
Nevertheless it depends if it will be installed or not
as it seems it is a problem with my pc for some reason the online settings are not working properly. I tried all solutions above but they made no difference.
Interestingly enough other collegues upgraded now to Win 11 and 4.9.6 is working fine even on Windows 11.
We will be upgrading our PC next moth so I did not investigate further on that topic.
