Hello B&R Community,
We are pleased to announce the release of new hardware upgrades for B&R IO-Link Masters.
With these upgrades, the data type BOOL[8] is now also available for input and output process data. This means that the eight bits are stored as individual Boolean values directly in the I/O mapping.
This makes handling bit-based process data easier and more transparent, as each bit can now be accessed and used as a separate Boolean signal in the application.
The following hardware upgrades include this new functionality:
X20DS438A 2.5.0.0
X20cDS438A 2.5.0.0
X67DS438A 2.3.0.0
X20DS838A 1.1.0.0
X67DS838A.L12 1.2.0.0
X67DS838B.L12 1.2.0.0
X90DSI00.04-00 1.4.0.0
After installing the corresponding hardware upgrade, BOOL[8] can be selected for supported input and output process data and will be shown as eight individual Boolean values in the I/O mapping.
The configuration can be scaled up to 8 BOOL[8] values per direction, as with other supported data types.
This addresses some previous pain points, such as the one described here:
Enjoy the new feature!
Best regards,
Filipe Costa
