I have a project created in AS 4.2.126 and I’ve installed SafeDesigner 4.2.6.2 to be able to rebuild the project changes correctly. I am using Windows 7 platform for this project. But SD requests licence numbers to be registered. Now it runs in trial mode for 30 days or so.. I have valid AS licence key and also higher SD versions runs well without licencing request. What is the problem?

i know that early SafeDesigner Versions had to be Licenced separatly. I don’t remember in full. I think first they had own licence keys, later it was same Key as AS. Only after a certain Version they used the Licence of Automation Studio directly.
If you have an old AS 4.2. Licence Key you may try to insert it into the Licence Window.
As i have mappSafety installed i don’t have the old Legacy Safety Documentation at hand.

It’s not mentioning up to SD 4.2.6 but that might be a documentation glitch.

I don’t have an older key, this what I have now is at least 6-7 years old.. I inherited old projects from programmer who is not in the company any more. Also his USB licence key. His computer was also replaced and I restored all old projects on the new one. Maybe for SD version 4.2 the licence was not stored on the key but was entered in terms of numbers once at first SD registration..
In the mean time today I upgraded this project from 4.2 to 4.3 and rebuilt it with SD 4.3.4.4. This version does not require a licence anymore… Higher upgrade is not possible I think because of ACP10/ARNC0 components used …
Tomorrow I will load the changes to machine and hope it will work…
