I’m using safedesigner for a new project, but I have some questions:

  1. How to Importing Function blocks from another project?
  2. When I rename an existing project in the configuration view of the safety controller, then it creates a new empty project, and also the original project is still in the dropdown list

But resuming, I want to make a new safety project with a new name, but wants to use source code from an existing safety project. Or by copying/importing, or by copy/renaming an existing project. But I cannot find how to do this. Maybe it is not possible?

Hey Harry,

  1. You should be able to copy and paste if both projects are opened?! At least as far as I can remember. Just give it a try!

  2. I’m not sure about any AS supported method, but you can just manually rename it:

    • Go to your configuration view → mappSafety → Right click, open in Explorer
    • Rename the .swt file and the matching folder accordingly
    • Open the Package.pkg file and update the row containing the .swt file name
    • You can check in AS if you have to update your sfdomain configuration
    • That should be it! :slight_smile:
