Hello everyone. Even though I have disabled my program, the PLC goes into “Service” mode during simulation; I haven’t been able to figure out why. How can I resolve this?
It appears that the program that you are running is causing a page fault. A page fault in short is loading or storing data to/from an illegal memory address, essentially meaning that the program that you are running is attempting to read from or write to memory that either doesn’t exist or isn’t accessible. I’d check to ensure your pointers aren’t NULL before dereferencing them, checking buffer overflows, and maybe adding in the IecCheck library to assist in debugging.
Best of luck to you!
Hi @eem.ferhat
can you please check in your OPCUA C/S configuration if the UA server is disabled?
If yes, please enable UA C/S server (even if you don’t need it), build & transfer and check if the behavior changes…
(I’m asking because there’s a known issue with UA C/S package in version 6.7 looking similar to yours, which could lead to page fault if UA C/S is configured + UA C/S server is disabled + other mapp TP are used → if it’s that known issue, it will be solved with UA C/S version 6.8).
Best regards!
just small note @eem.ferhat ,
after AR 6.7.5 R&D has released other 3 versions:
Next week we should have 6.8 too, so maybe just for last test could you try to install AR 6.7.8?
Ciao
Valerio
Hi,
good to hear that the workaround helps!
As it was resolved just by activating the OPC UA server, then it was most probably the issue I mentioned:
The cause is then not a fault in your project but a issue in the OPC UA C/S package of B&R, that will be solved in the next version (coming soon).
So in your case activating the UA server is just the workaround to avoid the issue.
Best regards!
Good evening Alexander,
Does this problem also exist in AR6.5.1 with OPC UA Server enabled.
We experienced similar issues with an X90 combined with a T50 and remote access via OPC UA.
It happens on a irregular interval varies between days and several weeks but the PLC goes to service mode with a 9206 error.
Hi,
As far as I know this specific issue happens immediately when the PLC is booting and the OPC UA server is disabled.
As I understand your issue, it happens somewhen in runtime. So I can’t imagine that the cause is the same. The error mentioned by you is a watchdog error which is quite hard to analyse, as it could have hardware or software cause (from my experience most often it’s software).
I would propose to open a new post describing your observations and investigations on the issue so far (for example if you already have used the IecCheck functions to identify possible memory violations), including the info of hardware and software versions used, and if it happens on just one specific machine, or on several systems.
Also a complete System Dump of the affected system could be interesting.
Creating a new post with that information with as much information as possible will probably lead to the situation, that some users have ideas how to proceed, or maybe remember similar topics.ä (at least I hope so!)
Best regards!
