Hi
Using Automation Studio V4.3.8.58 SP (2018.09.11.58)
Upgrading X20CP1584 to X20CP1684 does not appear in Tool_Box Hardware Catalog.
Downloaded AS4_HW_X20CP1684 / AS6_HW_X20CP1684 from Website unable to add to Hardware Catalog.
Can I install Hardware for X20CP1684 in A.Studio V4.3 ?
Hello,
no this is not possible since the X20CP1684 is not yet supported in Automation Studio 4.3.
You can see the required Automation Studio Version, when downloading the upgrades from the B&R Website.
If you are using the upgrades dialog in Automation Studio you would only get supported modules.
So for the X20CP1684 minimum Automation Studio 4.7 (or 6.0) is required.
I would suggest if you upgrade the Automation Studio Version use 4.12 or 6.x.
Best regards
Fabian
Thanks, Fabian
Assumed this was the case is any work arounds available?
Validation procedures will not just allow upgrades to Studio versions without change committee Approval / Testing.
Regards
Mick
Hi there,
there are no workarounds for getting hardware to work in older-than-supported versions. This is, not only, related to support in studio itself but also the runtime (lower runtimes available in AS 4.3 so AR 4.3x won’t support that hardware, either.
Best regards
Michael
Thanks,
Can I upgrade A.Studio from V4.3 directly to V4.7 ?
I don’t think you can. I /think/ however you can directly upgrade to 4.12? I might be wrong there, though
Edit: I misread the question, I was talking about the Project, not the studio itself
Hello Mick,
you cannot upgrade AS4.3 directly to AS4.7
Both are “standalone” versions which means you have to install AS4.7 which will then coexist as an own program on your PC.
Nevertheless I would suggest that you do not upgrade to AS4.7 as this is also obsolete and directly upgrade your applicaiton to AS4.12 which is the latest AS4.x version
