Why did audit events disappear after upgrading to mapp Services 6.7

Hi!

I’m experiencing the same issue.
When upgrading to mapp Services 6.6.0, I had to explicitly enable the OPC UA interface of MpAudit, and after that I was able to see audit events in my widget.

However, after upgrading to mapp Services 6.7.0, I no longer receive any messages. I’ve also tried 6.7.1 (released just a few days ago), but the problem remains.

I couldn’t find anything in the revision information that clearly explains this behavior.

Has anyone else seen this or knows what might be causing it?

Best regards
Rickard

Hi @Rickard_Odgren ,
I can’t reproduce your issue, but maybe I see new one.
I downloaded mvHighlight prj converted by Jaroslav from AS 4 to AS 6,
Release AS 6.5 and MV6.5 · br-automation-community/AS6-mvHighlight-JS · GitHub
then I updated the Runtimes:

by watch I changed one value:

and I saw the entry on the Audit page:

=======================
Possible new issue: I didn’t touch the visualization for few minutes:
I saw the screensaver:

then I touched again the visualization:

my entry in the logger disappeared

Actually the issue is not only connected to the screensaver, if I change page and I return the the audit page same issue.

I downgraded all Runtimes:

Totally different behavior, immediately I saw much more entries.
By watch I changed Kachel[0].SetTemp 3 times from 50 → 51, 51 → 52, 52 → 53 and I saw those changes on Audit page

then I changed page:

and back to Audit page, no issue:

Please don’t waste your time on additional investigation, it’s clear we have an issue on the new release.
I recommend to downgrade your Runtimes (AR, OPC UA C/S and mapp) to 6.6 until we find the cause of the problem.

I’m studying mappView so I was curious about your issue but we also have guidelines on our community:

If you found a bug in an official B&R software, please report this directly to your local B&R Support team. The B&R Community is not the official channel for bug reporting. The exception is for bugs related open-source developments within the community itself. The same restriction applies for quality topics.

Hi Valerio!
Thanks for a thorough investigation.
As I wrote, Audit has been working as expected until I upgraded my project to the latest AS, AR, and mapp TP versions.
In my case, I don’t want to roll back to version 6.6 since there were other bugs there that, according to the release info, should be fixed in 6.7.
So I guess I’ll just have to wait and hope for the best.
Thanks for the help.

I just tested with mapp View / Services 6.7 and cannot see any issues regarding Audit.
(I used AR 6.5 and OPC-UA 6.5 … maybe you want to check with these versions, too)

I also was not able to reproduce the issue with the highlight project, works like a charm for me.

Have you checked the logger? Are there any suspicious messages?
You might also want to delete your temp-folder and recompile everything.

Hi @Rickard_Odgren ,
I tried different combinations and immediately, for my issue OPC UA C/S has introduced the problem:

Regarding more details when I have the issue:

same entries when I select OPC UA C/S 6.6.1 so in this particular case logger doesn’t help the investigation.

Which OPC UA C/S version have you selected in your prj?

Hi!

I’m using all the latest versions, that shouldn’t be wrong, right?

I’m not seeing any related errors in the logger at all. I’ve tried deleting the Temp folder and doing a complete rebuild, but no luck.

Rickard

You are correct!
Could you, just for test, downgrade OPC UA C/S to 6.6.1 and see if you still have the issue?

Thanks

I downgraded OPC UA C/S to version 6.6.0, and the issue is gone now. No problems anymore.

Thanks for your systematic investigation. Much appreciated.

Thanks Rickard, I’m going to report my issue to my Support in Atlanta, could you please report your issue to your local Support?
Our issues are pointing to OPC UA C/S, but It’s possible we are facing 2 different issues so it’s better in my opinion to report both.
I’m going to mark your comment as solution, there is no other action from community.

Will do! Thank’s

Hi @BnR_Support , please keep this problem in mind. I think it can be reported by more users.

Thanks Jaroslav for your work on the conversion of mvHighlight prj in AS6, It helps a lot! specially the mapp View beginner as me.
