X20SO6300 in state=FailSafe

Hello,

Does anyone knows why an X20SO6300 module changes to a FailSafe?. The “S/E” led is in constant Red, the datasheets explain that is in FailSafe:

Reading the Data sheets SafeIO and SafeLogic i found that the failsafe is a state where the module protects itselfs or something like e.g. The incorrect connection of a Safety Analog Input:

I have not found any information (like the SAI modules table above), about why a module of Safety Outputs changes to that state (FailSafe) and how to solve it.

I hope someone can support me with this. Thank you

Hi @Salvador_Flores ,
please open the safety logger, you should have more details about the cause of the problem on X20SO6300 for each AO channel.
Just as reference you can see one overcurrent issue related to that module the customer has found few months ago:

As you know your safe output module can provide 0.2A for channel:

In our case the safety door required higher current.

How did we solve the issue? The customer replaced X20SO6300 with X20SO4110:

I hope this helps

Hello @valerio.manenti Thank you for your recommendations.

We couldnt had access to the Safety Logger, but it might be helpful in the future and check that info.

Just for reference, the customer change the module of position to another station and we notice that the FailSafe keep showing in the same module. Not in the same station.

We can solve the problem by changing the module for a new one and then making the acknowledge procedure for safety module.

Thank you for your help.

Hi @Salvador_Flores , this is bad…it’s clear you have found an hw issue, I hope the warranty of the module still valid so the customer can ask a replacement.
thanks for the update
