6PPT30.101G-20B HMI Service Password Recovery

Hi, I just want to know if anyone tried to reverse engineering to access the B&R HMI using the service password, unfortunately no one knows if someone make an update to change the service password without our permission. Now, we cannot access HMI important parameters to set the IP address and port number. Unfortunately, i’ve asked previous technician before who is InCharge with it but no idea that someone made some changes before. Only my option is to do reverse engineering or any other special high-level access to see what the updated service password was. I don’t want to disturb any configuration set-up from automation studio software. Thank you if someone can help me to resolve the issue.

I do not think that there is any way how to do what you are looking for if you do not have source project.

Generally:

You can restore your T30 by updating: You must generate an empty config using Automation Studio: Project → Project Installation → Generate Project Installation Package.

Obviously, a T30 should be in the Project.

When the T30 asks for the password of the service page, there is also an update button.
Connect the generated USB flash drive and press update.

Warning: You will lost your configuration.

Good morning.

I have the same problem, but in my case, the update button does not exist (I imagine it must be due to some new update). In my case, how can I unlock the HMI?

Thank you and best regards.

Just an example, you should see Picture A

If you see Picture B, then you have a variant of the image where it must be enabled on the service page before the password is set.

Pictures were taken from the T50, so I would assume the same can be applied to the T30.

Thank you for your reply.

My problem is that I cannot access the service page because it asks me for a password before logging in.

Is there another option to remove the password?

Kind regards.

So you see variant B from my screenshot? In this case, please get in touch with local support—they might know some “hack.” Otherwise, you will need to send it to the repair department. They will flash a new image without a password on your T30.

OK, thank you very much for your reply.

We will have to send it then.

Best regards.
