8LSC5C Motor DT Upgrade File

Hello, 8LSC5C.E1050A009-0 for engine AutomationStudio 4.12 DT Upgrade for the required. Can you help? I need it so I can test the engine.
Thank you very much in advance for your help

Hello Sertac,

if you’re using a B&R ACOPOS and you have (like in your case) an EnDat Encoder, all motor values should be saved on the encoder and you can just use it without configuring it in Automation Studio.

You can easily verify by reading out one or two motor parameters via mappCockpit.

Here is an almost full list (TempSens parameters are missing):

47 MOTOR_POLEPAIRS
50 MOTOR_SPEED_RATED
51 MOTOR_SPEED_MAX
48 MOTOR_VOLTAGE_RATED
57 MOTOR_CURR_RATED
56 MOTOR_CURR_STALL
58 MOTOR_CURR_MAX
53 MOTOR_TORQ_RATED
52 MOTOR_TORQ_STALL
54 MOTOR_TORQ_MAX
49 MOTOR_VOLTAGE_CONST
55 MOTOR_TORQ_CONST
60 MOTOR_STATOR_RESISTANCE
61 MOTOR_STATOR_INDUCTANCE
62 MOTOR_INERTIA
865 MOTOR_AMB_TEMP_RATED
74 MOTOR_WIND_TEMP_MAX
59 MOTOR_WIND_CROSS_SECT
849 MOTOR_TAU_THERM

Also in mappCockpit, if you check the mappMotion drive log, you should see the motor model:

You can’t read the par id for it (40: MOTOR_ORDERTEXT), since in the current version of mappCockpit, you can’t read STRING par ids.

Thank you Marcel for your help

But I want to test this engine with AcoposMulti I880S Driver. Endat card is available. I cannot find its name in the engine list when creating a project in Automation Studio 4.12. That’s why I asked for the engine file

Hallo,

Like Macel Krausert descriped, for Motors with readable electronic NamePlate it is possible to skip the Motor configuration in Automation Studio.

If you like to insert a Motor which is not available via the toolbox you have to check if its available via the Download. Not all possible combinations are delivered with the AS-Installation.

Update Dialog with Filter for the 8LSC5C Drive

I Think B&R does not create Files for all possible Motoroption codes. I know the typical option codes D0 without Brake , D9 with Brake which are normaly available.

Please check your Ordercode, i think your A0 must be a D0, because A0 is not available for 8LSC motors.

Motoroptions 8LSA/8LSC

Motoroptions 8LSO/8LSP

Greetings
Michael

Hello Michael,
Thank you very much for the information you gave.
I tried to send a photo of the engine’s label but it won’t upload.
8LSC5C.E1050A009-0 Rev.:C1 Label Name
A3C00330006 Barcode Number
Automation Studio Upgrades section is not active. I cannot search.
8LSC5C E1050D009-0 Can you send me the installation file? Can I run my engine? I would like to try it in a project.

Hello Sertac,

I’d suggest you contact your local support / nearest office, they can get in contact with 2nd level support and should be able to provide you with an upgrade file! Alternatively you can also create a ticket if logged in to the B&R Homepage (Customer Support Portal). If you don’t have a login → Contact sales.

Only thing a B&R colleague / you could try: If it’s a custom hardware, you need to login to the homepage or in the upgrade dialog in order to see the upgrade. But I don’t really believe that’s the case here…

Best regards,

Adding my two cents here as well:

Generally: Option “A0” refers to a connector on the A-side of the motor. This option is not currently offered, but apparently was sometime in the past. (I’d say the motor is from 2008)

@sertac_a As already mentioned, you can use EnDat motors without inserting any hardware file besides the drive. The only disadvantages you’ll have are:

  • It’s not listed in the hardware tree
  • You can not use the speed-torque-chart since the AS doesn’t know the various values

You can easily check this (as mentioned) by reading any specific ParID using the test window (when using ACP10) or mapp Cockpit (when using mappMotion). The easiest here are usually ParIDs 40 and 41 (Order code and serial) but apparently they can’t be read on mapp Cockpit (yet?). You can crosscheck at least a few against what you can read on the typeplate (using the list @krausertm provided above). If those you checked match - assume all have been read from the electronic typeplate properly. (Attention to detail: No motor connected or readable means there is a “default” set active which uses a rated speed of 5000, so maybe use another one  )

Best regards
Michael
