AS Code , AS6 Integration

When AS 6 and AS Code first came out, I installed the first release. I remember in AS6, I could Right click a POU and I would see a contextual menu that would ask if I wanted to open the file in AS Code.

I have now updated AS6 to the latest version V6.5.1.7, Ran the full Install.

For some reason I don’t see any contextual menus anymore and When I start AS Code I get a weird error see below

I tried to Uninstal AS Code and Re-Install Manually

That’s what got me me to uninstall and Re-Install Manually.

Seems to me AS Code does not detect AS6 and vice versa.

Any Help would be appreciated

Hi @David_Vieira ,
I see the issue is already reported in our internal chat today, Support has created a ticket for R&D, and the recommendation is: ”At the moment simply ignore the message that a new version is available”

I see a work around is available, but I would like the approval from our Support before to post it.

I’m so sorry David, now I see your issue: you have installed the latest version of AS Code 6.5.1 but in the mean time you have lost the contextual menu in AS 6…and I don’t see this issue on my computer (I have AS 6.5.0.306).

Let me install the latest AS 6.5.1.7 available from our website and see if I can reproduce your issue.

Unfortunately at the first try my installation of AS 6.5.1 failed:

When I press ok, I got another message…molto molto bene:

Never give up, let’s try second time…

Never give up…now I’m going to uninstall AS 6 and AS code 6 and install again AS 6.5.1.7

Now my folder is empty:

I restart my pc and I’m going to install AS 6.5.1.7

I uninstalled AS Code 6 too:

Now I install AS 6.5.1.7 again and I cross my fingers

Fortunately no issue during installation and when I open the prj I see the contextual menu:

Now I see your issue:

When I open AS Code 6 for the third time I have to repeat the same 2 steps:

1. Remind Me Later
2. Click on PLC code icon

I’m happy I have reproduced your issue, but now I have to reinstall all my upgrades…hehe

Just to be on the same page…on my sequence I have reproduced the issue on contextual menu on AS Code 6.5.1 and not on AS 6.5.1.7, Do you have the same issue? If yes, do you see your contextual menu in AS Code 6.5.1 back if you click on PLC code icon?

Hi David, since this issue regarding the missing context menus appears to be a system bug and will require R&Ds involvement, I have created support CASE-70678 to track this.

I will follow up here once we have a resolution in the CASE.
