I have a mappView application running on X20EM0611 and the graphic is displaying on a T80 panel. I have been experiencing a connection problem between OPC UA server and mappView Server. The mappView Server would disconnect from OPC UA Server after being idle for a period of time and it would attempt to re-connect to the OPC UA Server multiple times until the connection finally failed. As the result the graphic on the T80 panel was changed to the configured default mappView page or it was changed to a white blank page. I have tried to change the security settings, check the Ethernet cable, using a different X20EM0611 PLC and T80 panel etc. with no success.
I am running AR 6.1.1 , mappView 6.1.0, mapp Services 6.1.0, mapp OPC UA C/S 6.0.0, and mapp Control 6.1.0
Note that I am using Force Login option for mappView client and I am not certain whether it is part of the problem or not. I tried to upload the system dump to this post but B&R forum does not allow me.
This error has the potential to be a disaster. Example: We have 150+ C80 HMIs at a single Factory. Imagine 150 HMIs “Freezing” after a couple of days of operation. The C80 and C50 had a two separate very infamous screen “Freezing” bugs in 2021/2022. Has this been reported as a bug to support? Very concerning.
I have been working with B&R engineering support from Atlanta office. They think that the problem is caused by memory leak. They suggested me to monitor the memory usage over a period of time. However, I haven’t had time to do it.
For now, I recreated my project in AS 4.12 using the same hardware and I have not experienced the loss of communication problem. Therefore, I strongly believe that the problem only applied to AS 6.
