Automatic selection of the correct AS version is not working

Good morning.

After reinstalling the latest versions of AS 4.12 and AS 6.5 on Win11, I have the problem that every time I open a *.apj project file, AS 4.12 is started, even if the project was previously opened with AS 6.5. The information in the AS6.5 apj-File ist correct.

<?AutomationStudio Version="6.5.1.7" WorkingVersion="6.5"?>

Then I get the familiar message that the AS version does not match. Before the reinstallation, the automatic selection of the correct AS version worked.

Good morning Daniel,

you have to change your ‘Standard App’ for *.apj files in your Windows.

Context menu ‘Open With’ of Explorer ‘Other App’ can do this.

I already tried this several time, no change.

Yesterday I uninstalled and the reinstalled AS4.12 again, now it is working. No idea why…

next time try

1.) open regedit.exe

2.) delete ‘\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.apj’

3.) link ‘AutomationStudioLauncher.exe’ with ‘Open With’- dialog
