Hi, everybody I have an Acopos 1045 connected to an x20cp1584 controller using the AC114 module and the PowerLink protocol I can’t connect the drive to the controller in any way When installing the AC114 module in Acopos, the Error LED flashes on it 5 times (the documentation says that this is an Invalid hardware ID. The R\E LED is also glowing red on the module itself. I don’t understand what the problem might be, before that, there was a module for the CAN interface in Acopos, the unit was communicating
Contact your local B&R office. If the ACOPOS had a CAN interface card, it may be old enough that the bootloader/firmware on it doesn’t recognize the AC114. And since it doesn’t recognize the AC114 it can’t update itself via POWERLINK to be able to recognize it.
Before the AC114 there was an AC112. When the AC112 was discontinued and the AC114 introduced, there were changes needed in the bootloader to recognize the new hardware. There is a process to upgrade the bootloader to recognize an AC114, but it does require a working AC112, if I recall correctly.
There were literally labels/stickers on new drives for a while say “Works with AC114” for the drives that shipped with the new bootloader installed. There was also a list of the minimum hardware revision of each model number that supported it out of the box.
You might check the minimal Versions for AC114 here.
ACC114 minimal Versions
The documented blink code 5 red flashes would indicate that this is a old model.
The Bootloader Update is also descriped in AS Help in this section.
Thanks at @Matt_Buck to point out the requirement for AC110/AC112
Greetings

In addition to the already mentioned issues, you will have to exchange the modules
- Acp10man.br
- Acp10sys.br
in your project. They are different for CAN and POWERLINK.
Thanks more for the answer, I will buy the AC112 module, I think this is the easiest option.
It’s been discontinued, probably almost a decade. Your local office might have one they can loan or help you do the update.
