Connect ACOPOS、ACOPOS P3 via the DC bus

Hi ,experts. Is it possible to connect ACOPOS(8V1090.00-2) and ACOPOS P3(8EI8X8HWS10.XXXX-1) servo driver via the DC bus if they using same one power ?

Hello Wenbin Yang,

If you mean power supply, the ACOPOS P3 is allow to use DC bus, you can configure it on the configuration,

On the other hand the ACOPOS, I do recall that only AC is allowed, with the exception fo being used in a ETA system (training module)

Thanks for your answer, but that is not my focus,i upload a figure to explain.i want to share DC bus between ACOPOS and ACOPOS P3

Hello,
as far as i now the UserManual for ACOPOS P3 only states about the rules how to connect P3 with P3 / P3 to Multi.
And the UserManual for ACOPOS didn’t know the P3 in this times.

So i expect that there is no free to go for this from B&R out of the Datasheets.

The Diagram is not clear about the AC Supply of the Devices…
It only shows that the DC is connected.

If both Devices will still have a AC connection , you will have two complet different rectifier (based on the used electronics) . This can lead in an overload of one of the rectifiers, becuase the one with the smaller resistace will take the general load. You also do not know how the Braking Resistors are Enabled in this system, if present.
This is why your beeing normaly only allowed to connect similar devices, because the components are similar to balance the load.

If only one Device is supplied by AC and the other only via DC, i see no issue. If the one Rectifier can supply the complete System Power needed.

As the ACOPOS1090 is quite old and there are no spare parts availabe, i would consider to replace it aswell. Becuase i think this is why the ACOPOS P3 came in to this concept.

Hello,

yes this is the use-case i descriped with “both supplyed by AC”. Where i see issues with the load balance.
I am not an expert but i don’t see this to be Tested by B&R and therefore not Documented.

You can consider to use both Devices stand alone without DC-Connection.
