Hello,

May I ask why you need a driver for this card ?

There is no driver for this card for plain Windows as this cards typically operatse in B&Rs AR embedded (No Windows) or ARwin (Realtime extension for Windows).

For this ARWin there is a driver which simply tells Windows to not access this card (and to get rid of the question mark in the system manager)

Please note that this driver does not allow the usage of this card within Windows.

Therefor I am curious why you would need a driver for WinXP ?

best regards

Hi Sir,

Thanks for the quick reply,

In Device Manager I can see exclamation yellow mark & because of this machine is not communicating with APC.

PFA Device manager screen shot & awaiting your expert advise to solve this issue.

This is an ARwin

Drivers for this cards are located in the “Windriver” folder of your ARwin installation

Nevertheless this exclamation mark is most likely not the cause of your card not communicating. As mentioned this driver is mainl for Windows to not show an exclamation mark.

The card itself is operated by ARwin

Hi Sir,

If i remove the card from APC 2&3 will not be visible.

Later if i insert the card then i can see yellow exclamation mark.

Please advice why i am getting this yellow exclamation mark? And what could be reason? Even with this exclamation card does

this APC will communicate with machine?

Please let me know.

Hello,

I cannot answer this questions as I do not know your machine. You have to provide more information:

  1. Was this working before or in other words was the second card part of the original machine ?

  2. Was this working before and suddenly it does no longer work ? If yes what happend and what was done ?

Please be more precise as I cannot help without background information what happened

best regards

Hi Sir,

This APC is used in Gallus ECS340 printing machine.

This APC was working ok in the machine & first batch of printing completed.Later operator stopped the machine to load the next job.

Later operator informed me that machine is not operating & we observed communication error on the operator panel.

This was issue.

Later when checked in the device manager found this yello exclamation mark,

but i did not check before when machine was in good working condition.

Please advise

As mentioned please install the drivers for this card from the ARwin install folder (Company Gallus might install ARwin anywhere on the harddrive and I can therefor not tell you where this is located)

Nevertheless this will most likely not solve your problems. Communication issues could start from damaged hardware, broken cables, loose connections, etc….

Best would be to read the logger of the PLC as there might be a hint to your problem. Also a call at your machine builder could clearify further details (probably there is a alarm history on your visualization)

Hi Sir,

We contacted machine builder & they informed that problem in APC only and new APC to be replaced.

We just took out this unit from the machine. Did visual inspection no heated up nor burnt components & we sourced same B&R card locally ,

And when inserted the other card at the same slot found yellow exclamation mark observed.so confirmed that APC is detecting

the comm card & displaying as new hardware found.

We checked the machine comm cables physically for any loose connections, any damaged cables nothing observed.

This is for your info.

If you replace the card ensure that the node switches on the new card match the old ones - this is very important !

This LS card should offer 3 node switches. the single one is the ID of the card and would result in a different “card” detected by the APC

Probably it is only a problem of not correct switches

yes we observed this & did exactly as old card. But why again exclamation mark?

PFA some screen shot, kindly check & advise if drivers available in that folder?

Where did you get the replacement card from ?

If the node switches are okay then a replacement card should work out of the box as Windows knows the drivers

Got locally from the supplier but not new in box. Both node address are same. but i did not remove battery from old card. new card does not have battery

I installed without battery i hope it is fine, Please advice.

Double check the PCI you can finde a dirty connection or capacitor short to ground that’s the issue i had see before but its can be the same also watch the led indicator error my they tell you the exact issue

I also forgot to mention those cards are super reliable i think you have issue with another component

The battery is only for (potential) retain data on the SRAM of the card. It will not influence the corect working of the card.

If you cehcked everything then it might not be the card which is causing the problem and rather the APC itself

Hi Sir,

Regarding LED status, when we power up status led will lit red & it will be off when APC removed from the machine, this is teh condition.

I will check the LED status when we connect to teh machine with all connections connected.

I have one doubt, normally if drivers are ok why i am geeting yellow exclamation symbol in device manager? Please advise on this issue.

For example if we install any hardware it will ask for the drivers correct? If drivers is not installed the hardware will not work & it is show

yellow exclamation symbol in device manager. If i remove the 5LS card no hardware conflict.

Awaiting yoru expert advise.

As already mentioned the LS card is not operated by Windows. ARwin will take over the card and also operate the card.

The driver I also told you is only for the purpose to get rid of this exclamation mark.
