Hi all,
I am looking for some clarification on Dynamic Node Allocation (DNA) and Ring Redundancy.
As per Automation Studio documentation, DNA can’t work with Ring Redundancy (Please see the attached screenshot).
As per the specification (EPSG DS 302-E), Ring Redundancy and DNA can co-exist. The screenshot is given below. However, I do not find any information about the statement “However special attention must be paid on switching on and off the hub ports.”

I know, the preference should be given to the specification, but why Automation Studio documentation contradicting with Speciation?
Please let me know your thoughts.
Best regards,
Mohammed Shibin
Automation Studio documentation can contradict the specification because of the actual implementation on B&R Powerlink Managing nodes.
As the limitation is documented on multiple pages in the help, I would say that DNA can’t be combined with ring redundancy.
Limitations:
- Longer startup times
- Cannot be combined with ring redundancy
- Cannot be combined with cable redundancy
- Cannot be combined with controller redundancy
- Cannot be combined with the standalone function
- Not possible for Intelligent controlled node (iCN)

Thanks, Tommi, for your reply.
Do you know of any MN device that supports both Dynamic Node Allocation (DNA) and Ring Redundancy simultaneously?
