Hi,
I get this error when transferring the project to the simulator:
4 Error 05/03/2026 09:20:19,2229 – Data for source file comparison on target could not be copied to the transfer folder because of too long paths. 9344
I think the path, where your AS project is stored, ist too long.
So close the project in Automation Studio (or the whole AS) and move the project to a location on your PC with a shorter path. E.g. directly in C:\projects.
If this does not help, you could try the following
- close the project
- delete the complete Temp folder in the project
- reopen the project and make a rebuild with creation of the simulation-folder (Alt + F8)

Do you mean it works in another configuration in the same project? Then the question is of course, what is the difference between these two configurations?

If also this path is too long, it could cause this error.

Yes, I tried.
And yes, it’s another configuration within the same project.
The differences between the two configurations are the CPU and the MapView (different pages and programs).

Can you share a screenshot of the name of your configuration as well as the path where it is stored? Have you tried renaming the configuration?
